This isn't really a true "before" picture, as this was taken after we moved in and had ripped up the carpet. This is one of the only rooms in the house to not have the wood paneling, thank goodness! Re-modeling efforts in this room thus far have consisted of removing the wood-colored trim and replacing it with crown moulding. We also painted the room and hallway a pretty blue-grey color. Eventually we would still like to re-finish the floors, but that's a project for another time.

This room is still being decorated. It will probalby be some time before we get any formal dining room furniture. But for now we can live with our hand-me-down table, bamboo chairs and corner cabinet. We did finally get my favorite Pottery Barn bench--a belated Christmas gift from Jelise's family. It's beautiful, but as you can see the walls need something. Oh well, it's a work in progress!
