This was the other room that David was able to start on the week before we moved in. Renovation included tearing down the wood paneling and ripping up the carpet. We received a great surprise to find real hard wood floors throughout the dining room and three bedrooms.
The wood paneling in the bedroom did not come down as easily as it did in the living room; and it left horrible glue residue which could only be removed by scraping entire sections of the drywall off. Additionally, when the master bath was added to the original home, the owners turned what used to be a back window into a very shallow built in shelf. I found this to be totally useless, and so David had to re-drywall that area.
We chose a deep cranberry color for the walls and again repeated the 3 1/2 inch crown moulding around the ceiling and the floor. I've always wanted a bedroom rich in color--and now I finally have it! And I finally feel like our beautiful furniture fits. To see more pictures of the master bedroom, click here.
