We chose to have our wedding at Grace Lutheran Church in Boone, NC. Boone is a quaint town, nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. And Grace has a lot of special meaning to both David and Jelise--stemming from Jelise's college days when she attended Appalachian State and found a home-away-from-home at this beautiful church. Grace provided the perfect atmosphere for our wedding (check out the pictures in the photo album to see for yourself). We had spring floral arrangements on pedstals at the back of the altar and ivory tulle bows adorned the outside of the pews. |
Some of the beautiful music we had (provided by our talented organist, Mark Tomasik) included Trumpet Voluntary as the bride's processional, Ode to Joy, and Cannon in D. We had two very special soloists--Jelise's mom, Debbi, sang a glorious rendition of the Lord's Prayer, and our dear friend Jamie sang an original song called Miracles, which was written specialy for our wedding.
The day would not have been complete without our dear Pastor Tim Smith to perform the ceremony. There could have been no other choice for officiant. Pastor Tim means a great deal to us, and his candor and words of wisdom before and during the ceremony touched us deeply...they will always be with us.
And a special thanks to Holly Paul for keeping everything running smoothly, Jack at Bouquet Florist for the gorgeous flowers, and our fantastic photographer, Debbie DeVita, who not only took fabulous pictures but kept the day going as we wanted it. (Visit the photo albums to see Debbie's work)
